Hello Tina, good to hear from you, glad your boys are doing well,
Wow bike ride sounds a LONG long way although i must admit - Im not very clever at geography.....
If you are worried tho' perhaps you could negotiate a little, for Daniel still to be involved in something, but perhaps on a different scale and perhaps before deciding - maybe he could have some advice with his GP?
I'm doing my run with my daughter Sophie at the end of the month, Im lucky with my symptoms as mostly in my hands but I have regular meetings with my lovely GP - Im sure its going to be tough on the day but confident will get thru - definitely wouldnt do it without her support and advice - she has been really great,
hope you can work something out that you are happy with too, i always think mums know best really, so hope maybe the gp can advise you as well as mine has xxxxx
Take care, keep in touch love Liz xxxxx

Hi Tina
It's LOVELY to hear from you. We really do miss your posts but are glad your news is positive.
I'm sure work will be less stressful without the cook - even though you have more responsbility. You haven't mentioned your wrists and arms - are they OK now or are you still having loads of probs?
As for Dan doing the bike ride, it's such a great idea, but I agree with Lizzie that it would be good to talk it through with his GP or rheummy consultant.
Take care and don't stay away for so long next time!
Lots of love Jeanxxxx

Thanks guys thats a good idea i will get in touch with nurse see if she can have a word with gp see what he thinks, thanks for that silly really had not thought of that lol. Yeah jean to be honest it is brill without the cook i am enjoying being boss lol lol And the extra money will go in handy for the hols coming up. The sicaticka has gone comes in niggles but nothing like before so thats good. My wrists are ok really , only hurts when i try to grip anything cause it just dose not want to grip. The only opther pain i get is in the night i wake up screaming in pain my upper arm just like something squeezing it tight and cant stop it but after that it fine so i can live with that compared to the pain i had all day long. I was supposed to be going back in may but heard nothing so going to go back to gp adn ask them whats happening, as i know i dont have much pain but in a job where i use my hands all the time it is difficult not being able to grip. How are u jean?

hi Tina,
Great to hear from you! I saw on facebook you said Dan was doing well. Bless him ,wanting to do another bike ride, it does seem a long way though from Blackpool to Manchester, even if he didn't have RA. Good to hear that you are doing better with less pain and enjoying being in charge! You do need to chase up that appointment though because in your job you need to be able to grip. Take care, Love, Doreen xx

Hi Tina, Lovely to hear from you. Glad to see that you are not suffering so much as before but you need something done about these hands. Glad that you are getting the chance to earn extra before the holidays. What plans have you go this year? Bit worrying going abroad because of the ash. Agree with the others re the bike run. Check with the rheumie. Take care, Eleanor x

Hi Tina Just to add about the Manchester to Blackpool (Christie's hospital) bike ride. I did this four times, many years ago now, and when I was a lot more able I might add! It is a very strenuous ride and parts of the 60 mile route are challenging. It's not for inexperienced cyclists and regular training prior to the event is absolutely necessary. The minimum age for entrants is 14 years and they must be accompanied by an over 18. I admire Dan's spirit and wish to enter such an event (I don't know how old he is!) but I would think he may be putting his health at risk, if he was accepted. He would certainly require a medical disclosure from your GP stating his fitness to participate. Hope you are able to get a follow up appointment soon. Take care, Lyn x

Hi Tina, Nice to hear from you! I`m glad Dan and Matt are doing well, but agree with the others about checking with the rheumies about Dan`s Bike Ride. Maybe he might be able to take part in one particular stage of the ride? Glad you`re enjoying life without the cook! Take care, Kathleen x

Oh Tina that is so sad for both boys! Give them both a hug from me and tell them I think they are very special and handsome with it! Look how they did the cycle ride and raised money for NRAS last year, not many their age have done anything like that.
Hugs for you as well. Love, Doreen xx
